About Us

Located in the heart of Chicago in the Uptown neighborhood, Darul Hijra Muslim Center of Chicago was established in 2020. It serves as both a prayer space and a community center catering to all Muslims in Northern Chicago and the larger Chicago community as a whole.

Our Mission

Darul Hijra Muslim Center’s (DHMCC) mission is to fulfill the Islamic obligation of Muslims towards Almighty Allah.
DHMCC strives to preserve Islamic identity by facilitating and expanding meaningful connections across the Muslim community in Chicago through programs and resources offered to any who seek it.
We provide a safe space for Muslim youth to gather and grow, fostering faith and understanding of Islam amongst them, while promoting a comprehensive Islamic way of life based on the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

DHMCC inculcates true Islamic values in its members in order to contribute positively in building a healthy, safe and moral society at large, while introducing Islam to others. Our center welcomes visitors of all faiths and is open to anyone seeking knowledge about Islam and our ever-growing community. Prophet Muhammad (S) said: “The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.” – Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī

Our purpose

The purpose of DHMCC is to carry on religious, charitable, and educational activities in conformity with Islamic values. It is to pursue its mission and the accomplishment of its objectives;

  • conducting religious services and prayers
  • to teach, lecture, and disseminate the faith amongst Muslim and non-Muslims
  • to establish Masjid, libraries, Islamic centers, educational institutions, and
    permanent meeting places
  • to promote a better understanding of Islam through the establishment of the center (bringing us together)

Darul Hijra Muslim Center accepts donations, grants, and collect specific or general contribution for the attainment of these objectives.
